Pro Results International Grand Ball Championships 2011, San Francisco, CA
The International Grand Ball Championships held its 43rd competition this year at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Hotel in San Francisco, CA.
This was spectacular and they had a link to a live video stream located on their site giving us fans a chance to watch the heats and the competitions real-time.
Both Stephan Krauel and Denise Jourdaine organization the IGB and seem to be improving this ballroom competition by the year.
The International Grand Ball Championships included the World Pr0 Dancesport Series Tournaments as well.

Pro Rising Star Rhythm – IGB 2011
Richard Myers and Marianne Myers place 1st in the Professional Rising Star American Rhythm category at the IGB 2011 against 3 other couples. Placing 2nd were Martin Barthold and Eri Minagawa from California. Third place was awared to Thomas Martin and Hilary Johnson.

Andrea Faraci and Iveta Pauryte from California were the champions of the Open Professional International Ballroom Championships at the International Grand Ball 2011 in San Francisco, CA. Trailing behind them were Max Sinitsa and Lesya Sinitsa ranking in at 2nd. Third was given to Ronen Zinshtein a Mariam Izmaylova from Massachusetts.

All the dance couples were from California in the Open Pro Smooth division except for Nathan Fontes and Delayna Fontes who traveled from Washington who took 6th.

All the competitiors where from California with the exception of Oleksandr Altukhov & Oksana Dmytrenko from Massachusetts who placed 5th and Felipe Gonzalez and Olivia Wesolowski from North Carolina who placed 7th.

Results Florida State DanceSport Championships, August 2-7, 2011
The 39th Florida State DanceSport Championships was held at the The Ritz-Carlton on August 2-7, 2011 in Sarasota, Florida.
This competition was sanctioned by the National Dance Council of America (NDCA) and the World Dance Council (WDC). It is also part of the Region 3 Dancesport Series Competitions as well.
The was part of the TRIPLE CROWN Series that has a cash prizes that total to about $500,000 for the winners and finalists.
The Triple Crown consists of various competitions during the year that includes The Florida State DanceSport Championships in Sarasota, FL, The Southern States DanceSport Championships in New Orleans, The Crown Jewel of DanceSport in Lauderdale, Florida and The Southeastern States DanceSport Championships in Orlando, Florida.

Eric Luna and Georgia Ambarian placed 1st in the Professional Open Grand Championship Showdown category at the Florida State Dancesport Championships on August 06, 2011, in Sarasota, Florida, against 12 other constestants.

Results Seattle Star Ball, August 5-7, 2011, Seattle, WA
The 12th Annual Seattle Star Ball was held August 5-7, 2011, at the Hilton Seattle Airport and Conference Center in Seattle, Washington.
Andre and Natalie Paramonov performed on Saturday night which was part of the dinner show that was scheduled. They dazzled the crowed as usual with their creative and novel choreography. Andre and Natalie are five-time Canadian National Latin Champions and have many other titles under their belt.

Professional Results – Volunteer State Dance Challenge 2011
These are the Professional results for the Volunteer State Dance Challenge that were held through July 28-30, 2011, at the Hilton, in Nashville, TN.
The Volunteer State Dance Challenge panel of judges included Dennis Rogers, Dan Rutherford, Nicole Carroll, Pat Treymore, Glenis Dee, Paul Holmes, Chantel LeClurc, Sam Sodano, Bill Sparks and David Nymchek.
The cash prizes for all the professional divisions that include the American Smooth & Rhythm and the International Standard & Latin were $1200 for 1st, $800 for 2nd, $500 for 3rd, $300 for 4th, $200 for 5th, and $100 for 6th.

The four dances in the Pro Heat 5 were the Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot and Viennese Waltz. Placing 2nd were Vladimir Popov and Eulia Baranovsky and 3rd was given to Mark Short and Alyssa Kark. Taking 4th in the Pro Smooth were Michael Fitzgerald and Lucy Fitzgerald and running right behind them were 5th place finalists Chris Larsen and Anne-Marie Fournier.

Results River City Ball Amateur Ballroom Competition, July 16, 2011, Portland, OR
The River City Ball Amateur Ballroom Competition was held on July 16, 2011 at the Scottish Rite Center in Portland, OR. This ballroom competition allowed both youth and adults compete in the International Standard / Latin and the American Smooth and Rhythm styles of dance. They also had team dance matches in this years competition that went over well.
This competition was organized the by USA Dance organization but the dancers did not accumulate any points, however.
The River City Ball is an annual ballroom competition that has made its mark for amateurs and is the place to practice and hone your competition skills without jepordizing you ranking. Dance couples can come here without any pressure to win and use this competition as a practice run for the bigger competitions during the year.

Scott Nicholson and Samantha Sun from Oregon placed 1st in the Amateur Junior Silver Standard, Amateur Junior Gold Standard and placed 2nd in the Amateur Junior Gold Latin category at the River City Ball Amateur Ballroom Competition on July 16, 2011. They danced in the International Standard and the Latin American categories but danced flawlessly in in the Standard competition winning them 1st place across the board.

Results Twin Cities Open Ballroom Championships, July 12-14, 2011, Minneapolis, MN
The Twin Cities Open Ballroom Championships was held on July 12-14, 2011, at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center, in Minneapolis, MN. There were more than 290 dancers at this year’s ballroom competition according to the registration list.
There were workshops and dance seminars throughout the weekend that were taught by world class professionals that were a big hit this year. The cost started at $20/class and lesson packages were available starting at $70.
The Twin City Open Championships had Amateur, Pro-Am and Professional categories leaving no one sitting on the sidelines this year. The styles inlcuded International Standard, Latin American, American Smooth, American Rhythm and more. They even had new categories that included the Senior Open, the Amateur Social Nightclub Championships to name a few.

Eliana Ramsay competed with her teacher Tony Karadzhov in the Pro-Am Gold, Silver and Advanced cateogories in the International Standard and Latin styles of ballroom dance at the Twin Cities Open Ballroom Championships 2011 in Minneapolis, MN. They place 1st in all the International Standard dances in the Open Silver category.

The Desert Classic DanceSport Championships was held July 8-10, 2011, at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, CA. This was a ballroom competition for all levels and ages, whether you were just starting out or a professional, there was a category for you. The most popular were the Pro-Am and Amateur divisions that are growing in numbers each year.
For the first time, the Desert Classic was streamed live at livestream.com. The allowed everyone a chance to see the competition that were unable to make.

The winners of the Professional International Open Latin Championships category on July 09, 2011, at the Desert Classic Dancesport Championships were Dmitry Kurakin and Violetta Kurakina. Dmitry and Violetta started dancing together in 2007 and competed at the Blackpool Dance Festival this year.

Vitaliy Proskurin and Natia Kuprava took home the 1st place title in the Amateur Open Latin at the Desert Classic on Friday, July 8, 2011. They placed 3rd in last year’s Desert Classic but improved exponentially and easily took this year’s crown. They dance against 10 other couples from the USA with a semi-final and a final round.
